COP28 Themes

Technology & Innovation

Mobilize governments, corporates, multilaterals, academia, investors, and startups to drive a step-change in the development and deployment of climate solutions to bring the world back to 1.5° C (2.7° F) trajectory and reduce suffering for the most impacted populations and ecosystems. This will require a transformation greater than the Industrial Revolution.

Frontline Communities

Put nature, people, sustainable living, and livelihoods at the heart of climate action, including helping the most vulnerable communities adapt to the change that’s already occurring. Raise awareness related to the humanitarian crisis and inspire action to address climate-related risks. Scale robust solutions that protect, restore, and effectively manage natural ecosystems and biodiversity, address drivers of nature loss, empower Indigenous Peoples and local communities, and create resilient livelihoods.

The mobilization of financial resources and innovative funding mechanism plays a paramount role in realizing the sustainable transformation needed to combat climate change. Finance is pivotal to critical issues ranging from water and food security to youth empowerment, gender equity, trade dynamics, renewable energy, and resilient relief systems. Climate finance must be affordable, available, and accessible to developing countries.

Bring everyone, including youth, entrepreneurs, gender groups, and Indigenous Peoples to the table to ensure that decisions and discussions, and how the solutions are implemented, are truly inclusive and done in collaboration with local communities. Prepare the next generation with the right skill sets to flourish and support small and medium enterprises in their decarbonization journeys. Peace and compassion are core to inclusivity.

What people are saying

"Compassion is at the core for regenerative systems and social innovation. The Evolve Sustainability Framework helps me integrate compassion-based frameworks with systems thinking and design thinking approaches. I loved Joni's practical approach of having a project to understand stakeholder engagement, designing for future and resources such a biomimicry. I would recommend this course for individuals as well as professionals working in the same team/company to experience this course by Joni Roberts."
